The workshop aims to reflect on the role of RRI in periods of urgency and its potential limits.
The workshop addresses the following questions:
- How is the relationship between technical government and citizens to be reimagined in times of urgency?
- How does urgency, due to global challenges, legitimize or de-legitimize the emergence and institutionalization of RRI in funding bodies, in regulatory bodies, in research policy institutions and universities?
- What is the role of public private partnerships in/under urgencies?
- How should we balance top-down regulatory interventions and bottom-up participatory innovation given the quest for immediate and timely technical choices and solutions?
