The module covers the historical development and multiple shades of dialectics, one of the most significant and contested concepts in the tradition of western political and social philosophy. Starting with its emergence in ancient Greece, the development and multiple meanings of dialectics are registered and analyzed through a presentation of the key figures associated with the term. The module also entails a reflection on the strengths and possible limits of dialectical thought.
